Ughandi B Village Project completes dispensary and staff buildings to roof level

It’s our pleasure to announce that on May 22nd the project sent it’s final payment for the Staff builds and on June 2nd the project was completed up to roof level.

A village panel has since presented the staff buildings and  dispensary to Singida Council as their finished contribution. Finishing of roofing, supplying furniture medical equipment and staff now lies with the councils allocated budget. The villagers have also been asked to contribute to this which was not in the original government guidence.

The process to this stage has taken five years, initially a project taken on by the villagers of Ughandi B raising money was a slow process so Ughandi B village project decided to intervene to speed things up. We raised funds to finish the dispensary and during the latter part of 2014 Tanzania Development Trust awarded us enough money to finish the staff buildings.

Our work in helping to provide a dispensary and housing for staff is completed.

Staff Building Progress May 2015

Progress on the staff build since March has been slow but has now reached the final stages as far as our involvement is concerned, all that remains to be added to both houses are canopies to the front with pillars which require 250 more blocks to be made. Once completed the village chairman and committee members will present it to government officials.

It is then the responsibility of the government to complete this project supplying furniture, roofing and staff to run the dispensary.

Ughandi B Dispensary houses interim report

Happy New Year to all. We wish you all the best for 2015 and look forward to your continued support.

During the latter part of 2014 Ughandi B Village Project has been working alongside TDT (Tanzanian Development Trust) to supply the village dispensary project with two staff houses. Work has progressed steadily throughout November and December despite heavy rainfall and other intervening factors. Our project manager Mr A O N’geni has ensured that the build is of the highest standard which we are very grateful for. Here is his interim report emailed to us prior to the Christmas break.

Latest Staff build report

Our pre Christmas report is that work progresses at a steady pace.

With a first class mason left in charge we can see that the standard of build is greater than would normally be seen at local level. Each building is constructed to house two families hence the scale of build. If building is not hampered by weather conditions in early 2015 we would expect completion before March.

Staff house build progress

We’re happy to say that inbetween the rain building has been going well. There remained some work to be completed on the dispensary itself but now work has begun on the footings for two staff houses. The photos show the scale of the build but with water plentiful at this time of year things should move swiftly.

Once again we thank Tanzania Development Trust for the chance to make a real difference in Ughandi B and to Abraham for his help in project managing.

Staff Houses exciting up date

Ughandi B Village Project has been negotiating with Tanzania Development Trust and can now announce that we have signed a contract with them which will enable us to complete two staff houses to roof level.

Our Project Manager Mr Ng’eni will oversee the work which we estimate will begin mid November. Dan Cook Vice Chairman of TDT will travel to the village to meet up with him towards the end of November.

This is exciting news and we will give up dates as we move through the process.

We would like to thank  Tanzania Development Trust and Dan Cook on behalf of the people of Ughandi B village.
